An economical, high performance solution. Introduced to the mid-Atlantic
region by Recon in the mid-1970's and now employed extensively throughout
the United States, asphalt milling removes old layers of pavement
to a desired depth, using highly automated and specialized equipment
that restores the pavement to a specified grade and slope free of
bumps, ruts, wash boarding, and other imperfections. Your road is
left with a textured surface that can be used immediately as a driving
surface, or, if desired, overlaid with a minimum of new material-material
that can't conform to old road imperfections because those imperfections
have been removed. Either way, your road is refurbished with less
downtime and less new material-for less money.
Recon currently operates with five Milling crews.
Recon's fleet of milling machines includes two CMI's, an 800-7 and
a PR500FL. Both CMI's are equipped with standard triple rap or carbide
grinding triple rap cutter drums. Also available for the 800-7 is
a high production combo cutter that cuts 2', 3', or 4' width by
12" depth. Our Wirtgen 2100DC, this is a high production deep
cutting machine that also is equipped with either a standard triple
rap or a grinding triple rap cutter drum.
We currently have two crews performing the cleanup work behind the
milling machines. The equipment utilized includes street sweepers,
Rubber Tire Loaders, Skid Steers, Water Trucks and Air Compressors
needed for handwork. We can also supply dump trucks, if requested.
