About Us

Recon Construction Services, Inc. is a specialized highway construction contractor based in York, Pennsylvania. We provide our services in the Mid-Atlantic region. One of our specialized services is roadway milling, which encompasses carbide grinding and concrete scarification of bridge decks with the option for us to provide full cleanup and detailing support to get your project ready for final paving.

A spin off of milling is roadway widening. We can excavate approximately two miles per day to a depth of 12" at 2', 3', 4' or 6.5' widths in a single pass, while putting the final sub-grade to the proper slope. We also excavate for walking and bicycle paths, using our milling machines. This process allows you to pave almost directly behind us, with a minimum of cleanup and reseeding after the paving.

Full Depth Reclamation is another specialized service we offer. We have been a front-runner for this process since 1987. Road reclamation is a process which pulverizes and mixes existing pavement structure in-place with a pre-determined amount of underlying base material, to form an upgraded base. Additional stone may be added as necessary. Additives may be injected through a computerized system, depending on your needs. Examples include adding water for optimum moisture, asphalt emulsion or liquid calcium chloride. Recon also performs the grading and compaction behind the reclaimer to get you ready for final paving.

Recon also provides Soil Stabilization services. Depending on your needs, several different products can be mixed into the soil. For example, lime, quicklime, Portland, fly ash or cal-cement allows for better compaction of wet, clay type soil.

Spraying of Liquid Calcium Chloride for dust control on dirt/gravel roads is another service we offer. Recon has special computerized distributor trucks that ensure the proper amount of liquid calcium chloride is being applied to your roads.
